At present, most of the countries of the world are struggling with the Covid-19 (Corona Virus) epidemic in which India is one of them. I appeal to all my Red Cross volunteers and members to cooperate with the governance administration in this emergency situation of the country. Let us deal with this epidemic and make life normal, World Red Cross Day is celebrated on the occasion of the birthday of the great philanthropist John Henry Dunent. John Henry Dunent was born on 8 May 1828 in Geneva (Switzerland). John Henry Dunent's entire life was devoted to the service and social development of humanity. The war between France and Austria in 1859 at the establishment of the World Red Cross Society. That importance was entirely responsible for a fierce war between France and Austria in the city of Salfarino, which lost a great deal of money. In view of the disaster that wounded many soldiers, John Henry formed a group of philanthropists and the group Together they served the needy, afflicted persons and wounded soldiers. After the war, he along with his philanthropic group founded the World Red Cross Society. John Henry was also a great writer. He has described the horrors of the war of Selfarino and the immense suffering of humanity in one of his books. His book is titled "A Memory of Selferino, The origin of the red Cross: Un souvenir de Selferino" . In 1901, John Henry Dunent was awarded the "Nobel Peace Prize" for his service to humanity. A museum was also built in honor of John Henry. The Red Cross Society in India was established in 1920 by the Parliament Act XV. In India, the President is the ex-officio President of the Red Cross Society, His Excellency the Governor in the States is the President of this institution, and at the district level, the President of this institution is handled by the District Magistrate and the Vice-Chairman is the Chief Medical Officer. All members and other officials work in The work of John Henry Dunent to serve humanity is exemplary.
